Planning a trip with Leh Ladakh Package?
Well, from April 2017, the govt authorities had made it compulsory to get an Inner Line permit for International and Domestic travellers visiting to some of the protected area of Ladakh like Pangong Tso, Nubra Valley, Tso Moriri. Getting an innerline permit from government office might be an awkward task which requires lots of hours to stand in a queue, specially when if your ladakh trip is on some non working days (Festival, Saturday & Sunday).
On the other hand, govt. officials have recently launched a web based application where you can apply for inner line permit. Fees for ILP is Rs. 400 per person as an environmental fees and Rs. 20 per person per day as ILP fee. This is a standard rule for both domestic and international traveller effective 1st of June, 2017.
What is ILP (Inner Line Permit)
This is basically a travel permit or travel document which is issued by government which enables a domestic or international visitor to ride through to a reserved area for a limited time period. Only exceptions are people from J&K and childerns below 12 years with some ID. Foreigners visiting Leh needs to obtain a permit called PAP (Protected Area Permit) before going toward restricted area.
Inner Line Permit Required for which place?
Make a note that Inner Line Permit is not required for visiting Leh City or Ladakh. There are some specific areas which require a permit to visit. Some of the areas are Pangong Lake, Nubra Valley, Khardung La, Chang La, Turtuk, Hanle, Chusul and some other areas as well.
What is the process to get Inner Line Permit for Ladakh?
Well, as of now it’s become much easier since the govt officials launched a web portal to obtain ILP & PAP. Just need to visit the website and follow the process as mentioned below.
– Open a URL http://lahdclehpermit.in/, let the webpage open up completely.
– There is a half circle in centre bottom of the screen, which reads “Apply for Permit”, Click on this Link. Now, select the option from Overseas Clients, Domestic Client.
– This will open up a new page http://lahdclehpermit.in/contactfl.php, where you have to enter all your information required for applying an ILP.
– After entering the complete information, review the complete information properly. As after clicking on Submit button, you are not allowed to change the information any longer.
– Next, click on Submit button. Next page will come up with a message “You have been successfully registered”. Click OK.
– Now, after click ok, a next page will come up. In this page you have to select the areas for which you are applying ILP.
– At, the bottom of the screen select dates of Arrival and Departure to Leh.
– Click Apply Button for Permit. A New message will pop informing you that the circuit has been assigned successfully. Now Click OK.
– On next page, a message will pop up showing “Inserted Successfully”. Click OK.
– After this, on new page you will find all of the information related to ILP. This page will mentioned fee structure, your name, your ID number and Residence state.
– Now, you have to print this page or take a screen shot.
The online process is completed for the time being.
How to make payment for Inner Line Permit?
As of now there is no option available online to pay directly over website after registration. In this case, for fee deposit take the print out with your ID and visit the address mentioned below.
